Lego outside Legoland!
Italian photographer domenico franco has been working on a personal photography project where he digitally inserts lego vehicles onto the old streets of Rome!
The aim is to transform ordinary contexts in extraordinary ones, thus compelling the toys to get out of the idyllic and politically correct landscapes belonging to their perfect and idealistic cities (e.g. LEGOLAND), with the result of instilling in them those vices, virtues and desires typical of human beings.
I really like this series because it brings a bit of fun and excitement into pictures that would otherwise be pretty boring. Although we live in an age where colour is easy to reproduce and create, our towns and cities are consistently bland and uninspiring, projects like this bring life into what feels like rapidly grey scaling environments.
