Jarred & Displaced?

Jarred & Displaced is an ongoing analog photography project by Christoffer Relander!

These images are all achieved by doing something called double exposure (on a film camera) In this case he has filled up a reel of film with images of different glass jars and then taken his camera out to beautiful locations to expose the reel to another set of shots.

This creates one frame with two layers hence the term double exposure.

He has not used any software to manipulate these images either which makes this project really inspiring to me personally.

In this project I have realized a childish dream. I play with the idea of being an ambitious collector; conserving my environments into a large personal collection. Most landscapes are from where I grew up, on the countryside in the south of Finland, where my roots still lie. Separation anxiety to my childhood is simply what absorbed me into this project.

Time-Lapse Of Japan fixing a sinkhole!

japan-sinkhole

This is a sinkhole that appeared in japan a little over a week ago, nothing special about a sinkhole except the fact that it took Japanese workers about 4 days to fix.

Efficiency of the gods.

The sinkhole was around 100 feet wide and 50 feet deep. It was caused by construction workers who were boring a tunnel for a new subway extension about 80 feet below the road’s surface.
