The worlds longest parkour course?

Freerunner Calen Chan decided to hit up the Skyladder Parkour course at Tianmen Mountain in China, currently the longest parkour course out there which he seems to tackle with ease all while holding a gopro in his mouth!

It has an average incline of 45 degrees, and is 999 steps long (about 3 football fields)! Obviously this was difficult, and I physically couldn’t sprint down the entire path of deadly drops without slowing down, but I did my best!

What does the worlds strongest man eat?

Brian shaw is THE worlds strongest man…but what food does it take to stay that way?

The winner of the 2011,[3] 2013, 2015 and the 2016 World’s Strongest Man competitions. Shaw is also the first man to have won the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World’s Strongest Man contest in the same calendar year, a feat he accomplished in 2011 and then replicated in 2015. [wiki]

This means he needs to eat a boatload of food, literally.

It totals to around 12,000 calories per day and he considers it a constant battle, stating the hardest part about his career is simply keeping up with the diet.

Here is a quick list of what he has in an average day!

  • 8 eggs, a bowl of cereal and a spoonful of peanut butter
  • whey protein (3 scoops) peanut butter and 2 granola bars
  • beef, spaghetti and tomato sauce
  • another shake with 2 cups of almond milk and some blueberries
  • ground turkey, rice and broccoli
  • takeaway
  • quarter cheesecake and another protein shake

This is crazy.

How zippos are made?

Have you ever wondered how the iconic zippo lighter is made?

80 years and counting, and the Zippo is a pocket wonder still proudly made in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The Zippo classic lighter is one of the most recognizable pieces of American culture all around the world. The signature click has been heard in movies, in the trenches of war, and out on the streets today. How is this tiny wonder made?

The zippo factory of Bradford, Pennsylvania makes 28,000 lighters a day and will probably continue to do so until the end of time.

Primitive Technology: Water powered hammer!

Primitive Technology has once again shown that he is the king of the jungle with this water powered hammer!

This is the first machine I’ve built using primitive technology that produces work without human effort. Falling water replaces human calories to perform a repetitive task. A permanent set up usually has a shed protecting the hammer and materials from the weather while the trough end sits outside under the spout. This type of hammer is used to pulverise grain into flour and I thought I might use one to mill dry cassava chips into flour when the garden matures. This device has also been used to crush clay for porcelain production. A stone head might make it useful as a stamp mill for crushing ores to powder. It might pulp fibres for paper even

I honestly want him to enter the iron age, smelting metal ore and shaping it in a forge. I suspect he is far from finished in regards to the pre-bronze/iron age because each video is showing more and more ways our ancestors solved even the most basic of issues.

Forging a pizza!

The youtube channel Essential Craftsman decided to answer the age old question – how fast will your forge cook a pizza?

Well as you might be aware forges are fucking hot.

We’re talking around 1200°C. Which is the forging temperature of stainless steel. To put this into perspective “The temperature of lava when it is first ejected from a volcanic vent can vary between 700 and 1,200 degrees C (1,300 to 2,200 F).” [link]

Makes me wonder how much it would cost to get a forge pizza delivered!

Why Are So Many Popular Cartoon Characters yellow?

ChannelFrederator decided to take a look into the interesting phenomenon that is prevalent in the cartoon world..

Why are so many popular cartoon characters yellow?

SpongeBob SquarePants, Pikachu, Jake the Dog, the Simpsons and countless others all have one thing in common… they’re all YELLOW! Why are so many popular cartoon characters yellow? There must be a reason for this! Channel Frederator and Tooned Up had to dig deeper into this cartoon mystery and answer the question… Why are popular cartoon characters yellow?

I’ve got to say im hella impressed with detailed this video is by going into colour theory and colour psychology.

There is a lot more going on than just a random colour being picked for character design, for instance – Yellow is the brightest color of the visible spectrum, and it is the most noticeable of all colors by the human eye. It invokes happiness and optimism when people are surrounded by it!

Carl Sagan’s COSMOS streaming on twitch!

I highly recommend hitting this up while you can, it’s a fantastic series!

Cosmos: A Personal Voyage is a thirteen-part television series written by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter, with Sagan as presenter. It was executive-produced by Adrian Malone, produced by David Kennard, Geoffrey Haines-Stiles, and Gregory Andorfer, and directed by the producers, David Oyster, Richard Wells, Tom Weidlinger, and others. It covers a wide range of scientific subjects, including the origin of life and a perspective of our place in the universe. [wiki]

If you don’t know who Carl Sagan is you really need to hit up some of that google magic and educate yourself.

Below is one of my favorite “speeches” of all time and its by the man himself and aptly titled “The pale blue dot”
